teaching
As an anthropologist, teaching was a mainstay of my work. Now, long teaching programmes are rare. A classroom space is a laboratory for me, where along with my students, new ideas and forms are worked on and experimented with.
Currently, I am co-teaching a 3 year online research training called ‘Ecologies of the Imagination’ with the Anima Mundi School and its founder, Faranak Mirjalili.

workshops
-
Storytelling with multilingual migrant groups, schools & young people: The foundation of my storytelling practice relies on working with communities. I regularly tell in schools, especially for children from the ages of 7 years and above. I particularly enjoy working with young people (11-16 years), both in school and in community environments. Storytelling work ranges from techniques for telling stories, thematic and inter-disciplinary discussions around storytelling in classrooms to oral history training in collecting stories from their elders.
-
Storytelling workshops: These workshops range from basics of storytelling practice for those who are taking their first steps into storytelling, autobiographical storytelling and for those who have some experience with storytelling. They look at techniques of visualisation, voice & movement work, improvisation and building a confidence to tell stories in public.
-
Breath, voice & emotion in storytelling work: These are specialist workshops. I bring together work with breath & movement along with the Indian rasa performance practice.
-
Mentoring and coaching: Occasionally, I will take on one-to-one mentoring and coaching. Please contact me directly to look at whether I could mentor or coach you on your storytelling work/ performance.
