East of the Sun, West of the Moon: Storytelling in Multiple Indian Languages (2015)
90 minute long performance at National Gallery of Modern Art and other venues in Mumbai, India. 7 tellers, telling stories from the Indian sub-continent, the Levant, the Steppes of Central Asia, Japan, Siberia, Scandinavia and Mexico titled 'East of the Sun, West of the Moon'.
The telling experimented with the richness and diversity of Indian languages and the translatability of stories from different parts of the world into various Indian languages, ie. Hindi, English, Malayalam and Marathi. A collection of stories and languages woven together into a tapestry for a storytelling and story-listening evening. A performance born out of working in Mumbai with 5 participants from various linguistic backgrounds. I choreographed the evening and told stories along with the ensemble.
